Coronavirus Cases in the United States Reach 34, and More Are Expected
The contagion “represents a tremendous public health threat,” said one federal health official.

At least 34 people in the United States are infected with the new coronavirus spreading from China, federal health officials said on Friday.

Thirteen of the infections were diagnosed in travelers who fell ill after returning from overseas, and 21 in people “repatriated” by the State Department.

More infections are expected among the people who were passengers aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship and are in quarantine, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said at a news briefing.

Because they may have been in contact with infected people on the ship, “they are considered at high risk for infection,” Dr. Messonnier said.

Ten other passengers from the Diamond Princess tested positive in Japan, but are not being counted among the infected yet, because the tests have not been confirmed by the C.D.C. They will likely be added to the case count, Dr. Messonnier said.

Several Americans remain critically ill with the infection in Japanese hospitals. They were among the passengers aboard the Diamond Princess, which was overwhelmed with infections after it docked in Yokahama, Japan.

As of Friday, the coronavirus has infected at least 75,000 people, the vast majority in mainland China, and has killed 2,240.

“This new virus represents a tremendous public health threat,” Dr. Messonnier said.

Ok, so 34 cases, but the twitter feed I'm looking at says:
"CBS Los Angeles@CBSLA
1h
#BREAKING: The city of Costa Mesa is seeking to block the transfer of up to 70 confirmed coronavirus patients from near Sacramento to the former Fairview Development Center https://cbsloc.al/2vXY2K0" rel="nofollow - https://cbsloc.al/2vXY2K0"

so they have 70 'just' there???

Jeepers, being on a ship would be bad enough but a train? The toilets are horrible at the best of times but during a lock down......yuck.
