Chinese leader Xi Jinping (習近平) asked World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to suppress news about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the German intelligence agency BND found, according to a report by German magazine Der Spiegel.

During a conversation on Jan. 21, Xi reportedly asked Tedros not to announce that the virus could be transmitted between humans and to delay any declaration of a coronavirus pandemic.

It took until the end of January before the WHO declared that the coronavirus outbreak needed to receive international attention. Because of China’s delay, the world wasted four to six weeks it could have used better to counter the virus from spreading, the BND concluded.

Germany’s Robert Koch Institute also said that China failed to reveal all relevant information at the outset of the epidemic, leading it to turn to the BND for advice, according to a report in the Sueddeutsche Zeitung quoted by CNA.

I’ve just read that the story above has been debunked. Reason: The WHO denies it. My bad. If the WHO denies they lied to protect the Dictator of China, then we have to believe them. (Just kidding!)

Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of “journalists” who are so gullible.

 The WHO has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Communist Party of China since Margaret Chan worked there. This is not to say that the WHO doesn’t do anything worthwhile. I’m sure it does. But the pronouncements of the leadership of the WHO have been disastrous and led directly to the deaths of tens of thousands of people (H1N1, Ebola, SARS-2).

I think it is a real shame that no one appears to read history anymore, especially journalists. Dictator Xi and his propagandists are following Hitler’s formula to the last detail.

Use powerless internal ethnic group as scapegoat and put them in concentration camps. Check.

Arrest human rights lawyers. Check.

Use secret police to arrest without trial anyone who tries to reveal the truth about oppression. Check.

Claim neighboring land based “ancient rights” and expand military in preparation for attack. Check.

Undermine the will to resist of other countries through propaganda. Check.

Subvert international organizations with bribery. Check.

The Chinese are genuine bad actors and anyone who went along with this at the WHO should be dragged out and shot. 

It's politics!  We - the people - have no real way of telling whom is telling the truth.

Perrsonally, I suspect there is a kernel of truth in this story, but it has been inflated out of all proportion.

China lied so what is new.   It is a MOOT POINT it is all over the world killing thousands so who is going to hold China Accountable...NO ONE!  WHO deserves NO MONEY FROM THE UNITED STATES.  Thank God we have President Trump to stop the money going to the right hand of China...World Health Organization ( what a Joke World Health...more like World Death).
