In addition to the previous four COVID-19 variants identified, they have added a fifth, namely the South African variant (also known as 501.V2 or B.1.351) of which two cases have been identified.  As for the other variants, the most prevalent is the UK variant (also known as B.1.1.7) of which 97 infections have been reported to date,  the second is the Mexican variant (also known as B.1.1.222) of which 8 infections have been reported, the third is the Californian variant (also known as B.1.427 / 429) of which 3 cases have been reported,  and the last is the Brazilian variant (also known as P.1) of which 1 case has been reported.
