It's amazing how much fear Jacinda has managed to whip up here. I've been talking to various shop workers I know and they are telling me that the retired folk are literally terrified of Covid. They honestly think that if they get it they'll die. Almost to the point of hysteria. We've had a local thrift shop that has introduced the vaccine passport this week and will only allow people in who are vaccinated, and I know a few people who are boycotting it because of this discrimination. It turns out that the operators of the shop believe that only the unvaccinated can get covid and only the unvaccinated can pass it on to other people. I mean, seriously, where have these people been living for the past year????? They are delusional if they truly believe that. Personally I think they are just moralizing. I've noticed lots of people who in normal life wield no power, suddenly relishing the opportunity to tell other people what to do. They get short shrift from me. Anyway, we're vaccinating 5 year olds now. I'm sure that will end well............ ------------- Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts. |
