There are darker days ahead for these poor people. It's going to spread through the camp like wildfire. |

It has taken about two weeks for the first death to appear after the first case. Official case numbers are on the low side, so may be it is contained (or may be, but I hope not, they are not testing widely)-

....I know......I was trying to put a positive slant on the news.....but it seems too many countries are giving up (or never really) trying to contain it. Camps are one place it could rip through, with tight accomodation and limited health care and limited sanitation any IFR (Infection Fatality Rate) could be horrendous. Just like death rates for measles in camps is so much higher than elsewhere. |

Nearly a month since the first reported case, but only 35 cases and now a total of three deaths ---- these numbers seem very low for a refugee camp with over 1 million people. To put the figures in perspective:- If the rates to population numbers was similar to the USA then there should be 100 times more deaths reported than there has been, and nearly 6,000 cases. I can think of two factors that could count for the low numbers 1) it took longer to reach the camp than it did most countries, 2) lack of testing.
