Hi Josh, I've had a look and the error has happened at the start of page 41 of that thread. On page 40, there's also a glitch with a plain sidebar appearing on screen that can't be collapsed. Your last post on the thread had a glitch in it where it was extending something you had copied far beyond where you meant it to stop. it occassionally happens in here and previously I've been able to get in and delete the entry but I was unable to this time. I'm no expert but I'd say that either the thread has reached it capacity for processing and is now showing an error, or the runaway entry has overloaded the thread and it's reached it's capacity that way instead. However you look at it, it's an enormous thread. My suggestion is that you start a new thread called Scenario 2 or something similar. I hope that helps. |

KiwiMum, thanks for the info/idea...I was thinking in the same direction...I did start scenario's january 2020-never expected we would still be in a (worsening) pandemic may 2022... I have to think of how I want to use this forum...Sharing my ideas-based on the info I did read (with links)- may have had its use (both for me and others...) I think other diseases https://www.thailandmedical.news/news/breaking-chinese-study-indicates-that-hepatitis-in-children-could-be-due-to-autoimmune-t-cell-response-triggered-by-sars-cov-2-orf1ab-a1061s-mutation or https://www.thailandmedical.news/news/breaking-chinese-study-indicates-that-hepatitis-in-children-could-be-due-to-autoimmune-t-cell-response-triggered-by-sars-cov-2-orf1ab-a1061s-mutation but even https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_monkeypox_outbreak#Cases_in_Europe,_North_America_and_Australia or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_monkeypox_outbreak#Cases_in_Europe,_North_America_and_Australia may be related to CoViD... Also wars and pandemics in history often mix...But in my scenarios I did not expect it would get this bad... So I have to rethink...Also look at how this forum is going... |

I agree Josh. Covid is almost a dead duck these days. People are so over it. Once you've had it, you just seem to move on - or at least everyone I know does. There are bigger fish to fry than Covid. |

DJ, Thinking in solutions; https://www.ns.nl/en/about-ns/sustainability/climate-neutral/green-energy-for-train-bus-and-station.html# or https://www.ns.nl/en/about-ns/sustainability/climate-neutral/green-energy-for-train-bus-and-station.html# ;In 2017, our trains in the Netherlands became the first in the world to run for 100% on wind energy, giving travellers the option of travelling without CO2 emissions. In total, NS consumes around 1.2 TWh of electricity to power its trains. NS has signed a contract with Eneco to guarantee the supply of this electricity. and https://www.ipkw.nl/nieuws/kan-nederland-volledig-draaien-op-groene-energie/ or https://www.ipkw.nl/nieuws/kan-nederland-volledig-draaien-op-groene-energie/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojnYZqc977I&t=621s or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojnYZqc977I&t=621s Can we change from fossil energy to renewable ? Wars are based on scarcity...if we can get away from fossil fuels -in time- we may be working for three goals; 1-less wars 2-climate goals 3-less pandemic risks DJ I do not know if we have enough time for making "the switch". One problem is at present there are wrong priorities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okuRN1Wijlw or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okuRN1Wijlw ; Did the Dark Ages really Start in Rome after "The Fall" of 476 AD?In this video we shall explore the condition of the city of Rome during the kingdom of Odoacer and later Theoderich, and how the city must have looked decades after "The Fall" of the Western Roman Empire. What was the condition of its buildings? How many people were still living in the city? What would you see as a time traveller in the year 536 AD, wandering through the streets of Rome back then? I hope I can show you, that the condition of the city was better than is commonly assumed, and that the real decay only started with the Gothic wars. DJ, One could make the claim that both pandemics and climate change are signs of of a society in crisis-the symptoms...not the cause. The cause would be in choices being made, unbalances, resulting in a very small group claiming to own way to much. But also "relative" overpopulation. In the present that overpopulation would not be only human but also in the animals we keep. In some area's (like NL) to close to eachother resulting in lots of diseases (a.o. Q-fever). Maybe my main point would be "keep it simple-the best you can". Complicated answers may be not solving the problem-only get a few rich... We are in a crisis-with many problems-but enough clever people to find solutions... So I am thinking of "doing something" on this forum-have to think of a "fitting format"... |

The problem with the world problems is, in my opinion, that all of them are beyond the control of the individual or even the collective. All we can do is to mitigate the effects on our own lives as best we can. We're all stuck on board a runaway train and we can't get off. I'm not sure that there are any solutions. The people who wield the power have their own agendas that we will become privvy to after the event, not before. What I do think is a major world problem right now, and something that we can all do something about, is the elevating stress levels that we are all experiencing. That is something we can control individually. |

KiwiMum, step 1 has to be describing the many problems, facing them...Maybe the biggest problem is denial-those creating the problems running away from the outcome... Greed, "profit-at-all-costs" maybe is the underlying problem there... Once you know the problems-at least have a basic idea-you can start thinking of solving them...step 2. We are with out backs against the wall-we HAVE to change the way we live or die... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRjGVS1FIwk or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRjGVS1FIwk ; A real estate developer in central China’s Hunan province constructed a 10-storey residential building in 28 hours and 45 minutes. Each flat is prefabricated at their factory and then transported to the site. The building was constructed using stainless steel slabs which are designed to resist earthquakes and typhoons, according to the company. Two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, balcony, roof for general use...Of course you need a foundation...but providing people with good safe housing-around the globe-at low costs, reused materials - urban area's with most facilities in 15 minutes walk/bike-ride so you do not need (this much) cars...can solve lots of problems. In India more people have a mobile phone then a toilet or safe drinking water...https://www.15minutecity.com/ or https://www.15minutecity.com/ DJ-In scenario's I followed CoViD from its start...Other problems -part of them the cause of the pandemic- did get worse...so we now face problems with other diseases, are getting much to close to a (greed based) global war... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKPWzLgvgW4 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKPWzLgvgW4 and https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/barrymanilow/onevoice.html or https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/barrymanilow/onevoice.html ; "One Voice" Just One Voice, Singing in the darkness, All it takes is One Voice, Singing so they hear what's on your mind, And when you look around you'll find There's more than One Voice, Singing in the darkness, Joining with your One Voice, Each and every note another octave, Hands are joined and fears unlocked, If only One Voice Would start it on its own We need just One Voice Facing the unknown, And that One Voice Would never be alone It takes that One Voice. Ba ba ba da da da da, Ba ba ba ba ba ba da da da, Ba ba ba ba ba ba It takes that one voice Just One Voice Singing in the darkness, All it takes is One Voice, Shout it out and let it ring. Just One Voice, It takes that One Voice, And everyone will sing! I believe in change, the individual role..."one voice"...."darkest hour is just before dawn" etc... |

Midnight, not a sound from the pavement Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet And the wind begins to moan Memory, all alone in the moonlight I can dream of the old days Life was beautiful then I remember the time I knew what happiness was Let the memory live again Every street lamp seems to beat A fatalistic warning Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters And soon it will be morning Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise I must think of a new life And I mustn't give in When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory too And a new day will begin Burnt out ends of smoky days The stale, cold smell of morning A street lamp dies, another night is over Another day is dawning Touch me, it's so easy to leave me All alone with the memory Of my days in the sun If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is Look, a new day has begun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWoQW-b6Ph8 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWoQW-b6Ph8 |
