This month we are reviewing our animal feed. I've noticed that since we've been in lockdown, special offers on staples like dog and cat food have ceased. I really need to stock up again on large sacks of dog biscuits. We keep grabbing another from our storeroom and forgetting to add one to the shopping list. Same for chicken food.

This month I'm also starting our meat chicken production. I've just had some chicks hatch and will start another batch in the incubator today. I'm hoping to produce 60 birds a year.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

I've been going through everything and getting things organized. Making lists of things like spices and things that I think I won't be able to get. Some of our store shelves are already bare and things hard to find.

I read somewhere that coffee will be in short supply so we've started stocking up on coffee and tea bags. I can cope with anything so long as there's a good strong cuppa to hand.

A good cuppa cures all......

Take care all 😷😉💉

Brazil had a poor coffee harvest, and Vietnam's export (type for instant coffee etc) has been hit by corvid restrictions.   I read that the whole sale price has risen this year by 50% so expect retail price rises (although not of that order).  Stocking up could make good financial sense.

As the tomato growing season is coming to an end, I am using the green house to 'sun dry' food...it is at an experimental level, but I am trying to dry, tomatoes, plums and apples.   I should have started earlier when we had more sun (at this northerly altitude the days are getting noticeable shorter, and have been quiet cloudy).
