Does anyone have a thought on a 2nd wave?  My thoughts are that the first wave, the virus realized it wasn't strong enough so if it overcorrects, it becomes lethal in 2nd wave, then levels out for 3rd (yes, just like the spanish flu).  I think the 2nd wave will come in August, and then the third wave next Jan.  thoughts?

Dang I am not sure of any of it.  This is a strange virus does not act the same on many people.  Kills some who have no under lying conditions maybe just overweight...like me.  I am not going out until they have Therapies or a Vaccine.  Only thing that will get me out of my house would be if my son got sick and I needed to provide him with Chloroquine.

My thoughts on this;

-Due to human reaction-lockdowns-when lockdown is lifted it may come back

-The virus came from China-to Italy-to the US changed with every step-maybe some variation could start a new wave

-The virus itself RNA-long string 30.000 may mutate in such a way it can/will reinfect people it did infect earlier in a different shape (just like coronavirus that give you a cold)

-Other illnesses may go under the radar and get out of control, what does HIV do when people are supposed to stay indoors 24/7-with that aids, TB (and home violence) could explode

We are not out of the woods-far from it...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

A virus coming back more lethal second time around is unusual - not impossible - just unusual.

Although viruses have neither  plans nor minds, the biological imperative drives it towards more contagious and less lethal.

All viruses mutate all the time.  Most mutations are automatically lethal - to the virus.  Those few which are not lethal to the virus are now faced with a series of biological challenges.  The first is to spread its offspring to as wide a range of creatures and as large a number of creatures as it can.  Those mutants that succeed in this, go on to breed again - simple evolution!  Being deadly can stop a virus from spreading its offspring to the rest of the world, as the host (the person sick with it) is shunned and may die before infecting anyone else.

So, more contagious but less lethal  is the norm.

This virus SARS 2  is already more contagious and less lethal than SARS 1.  I think the argument could be made that this IS the second wave.
