The UK has just breached its all-time record for new Covid cases.

Figures from the ZOE health app show that around three hundred and fifty thousand new symptomatic Covid cases are being recorded every day, and ongoing cases are also nearing a new peak.

We have new U.K. RECORD! Over 351000 daily new cases on the Zoe app - that 1 in 15 people with the virus currently. Still rising across England but flattening in Scotland and Wales. All age groups increasing but kids levelling so hopefully flat within a week . Thanks πŸ™ 4 logging

The astronomical Covid infection rate in Britain has come at enormous social cost, with every ambulance service in Britain now on a black alert:

All of England's ambulance services now at REAP level 4 - equivalent to 'black alert' - amid heatwave pressures and massive delays outside hospitals. Data I've seen suggests some trusts have only a handful of crews to respond to hundreds of waiting incidents. #nhsummercrisis2

Over 200,000 people in Britain have now had Covid recorded on their death certificate, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The milestone comes more than a year after the country reached 150,000 Covid-related deaths towards the end of last winter.

With hospital admissions continuing to rise amid a wave fuelled by a subvariant of Omicron, public health officials expect the toll to increase over the next few weeks.

DJ, excess deaths even higher...

You know that queuing at hospital in this weather is bad when the hospital provide you with air con units for the back of the truck…… #Ambulance
