"Flights as long as 1689 miles have been recorded by
exceptional birds in competition pigeon racing. Their average flying speed over moderate distances is around 30 miles per hour, but they can achieve bursts of speed up to 60 mph." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homing_pigeon http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/aussie-ban-kneejerk-reactio n- canada/2005/10/22/1129775987457.html http://www.rpra.org/ Edited by Rick |

Hmmm Rick. I think it might be far too late here now anyway. We have to
wait till a spread to domestic poultry before we get a transport ban and that will stop the pidgeon fanciers ( as we call them). They will not be able to send their birds to places like Dundee for release. I guess France will stop them anyway. Thanks for this one though. Edited by harpmandoodle |
