DJ "Media-Experts-Politics" again "spreading hopium" in this pandemic, main goals;

no panic - no restrictions...booster vaccines will save the economy....

Opnames in Gauteng: 145 --> 319 (x2.2) --> 847 (x2.7) -->  1904 (x2.2).

DJ Hospital cases last 3 weeks in Gauteng/SA  from 145 to 319 (week 1 = x 2,2) to 847 (week 2 = x 2,7) to 1,904 (week 3 = x 2,2) . No idea why there are people calling this mild. I think we better prepare....

There is now officially community transmission with omicron in Denmark. ~50 % increase per day for the past few days. Remember: Denmark has a very high capacity for testing and variant detection and, hence, is without blindfolds. The spread is likely similar in your country.

DJ In Gauteng/SA hospital cases double every week, in DK (DenmarK) Omicron cases (detected DK has 50% of cases sequenced) double each day....

The Danish government will “work towards” a briefing on Wednesday at which new Covid-19 restrictions could be announced, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

The PM’s message came after the record for daily new Covid-19 cases was again smashed on Tuesday and health authorities said the Omicron variant was now being transmitted through society.

Up to now, authorities have been able to trace cases of the new variant to recent travel, but efforts to do this will not continue.

6,324 new cases of the coronavirus were registered on Tuesday, a new record for the pandemic by some distance.

Meanwhile, the Danish Patient Safety Authority said 398 incidences of the Omicron variant had been detected since it was first confirmed in Denmark at the end of November.

“We now have societal spread of the Omicron variant,” Anette Lykke Petri, director of the Danish Patient Safety Authority, said at a briefing.

Another twitter https://twitter.com/dgurdasani1 or https://twitter.com/dgurdasani1wow- if you're seriously more concerned by the tone by which someone calls out a lie, than our actual government ministers lying in the middle of a pandemic(!), then I think you really need to rethink what you're doing in a job where you're supposed to be serving the public.

DJ In many countries politics claimed many times this pandemic was over....There is now officially community transmission with omicron in Denmark. ~50 % increase per day for the past few days. Remember: Denmark has a very high capacity for testing and variant detection and, hence, is without blindfolds. The spread is likely similar in your country.

So-following twitter-many countries see Omicron go exponential.....https://twitter.com/Benjaministern/status/1467290213198270464?s=20 or https://twitter.com/Benjaministern/status/1467290213198270464?s=20Furthermore, if we for example look at Gautengs ratio admitted:oxygenated at the beginning of the second wave (Dec 1st) is looks similar to what we are seeing right now. 1447:274 vs 1511:225. So the overall evidence for less virulence seems low judging the available hosp data.

-However, if one only looks at the oxygenated, ICU-admitted and ventilated patients (none presumably accidentally counted as covid-cases) it doesnt look as reassuring. Oxygenated are up 300% in two weeks. ICU up 100% and ventilated up 50%.

DJ....The picture I am getting is Omicron is "high speed Delta"....better in evading immunity, high speed spread...most likely also high speed subvariants...Bad part is also faster symptoms, hospital cases, most likely faster number of deaths going up...

Hope to be wrong..I am NOT an expert, twitter is NOT a science study...*that will follow..)

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Interesting details, thanks. Notwithstanding the unknown outcomes of the new Omicron varient, the potential swamping effects of a tsunami type wave is deeply concerning if people enmass are infected so quickly. Governments are.cautious not to sound the alarm because.western society has demonstrated a chaotic reaction to previous national crisis. The situation could potentially and dramatically get ugly in UK, because the mindset here is generally ' each person for himself ' . I recall the first wave when supermarkets were stripped of many things leaving some people without food. It was appalling and ugly. I have learnt from this and have gradually stocked 3 Months survival kit of long life essentials, in case i have to go underground for a period of time. I hope this doesnt happen but to be honest, I dont trust our government's....Millions have died and yet people are still arguing aboit face masks after two Years...peace, take care.

I agree the government's are not to be trusted (maybe they are doing it for the greater good but I just can't see it) and I agree that things would get ugly very quickly.

I disagree that the mindset here is 'each person for himself'. I believe that people are manipulated, confused and backed into a corner by lies and fear. Fear leads to anger and that is dangerous.

I feel if there's going to be "bad news" it will be after Christmas,

Governments need people to spend and keep economies moving.

And have a little boost before lockdowns

Hope I'm wrong.....

Take care all 😷😉💉
