Whoever played the game risk as a child? I know I did and as I look out into the world during these times I'm noticing things within the world that u wld do in that game to overtake another country/countries... all this war stuff is crazy to say the least however all it amounts to is who can overtake what.... |

I am going to sound pretty uneducated when I say this so please go easy on me. I started watching things in 2006 when I joined this site. Originally, I was super scared because I had never delved into the conspiracy theory type world. Then i realized after much research, that half the things people were worried about, all generations have been worried about. disease, war, secret societies, the crash of the dollar. Its been in the forefront for conspiracy theorists forever. So here is my question. With the whole war stuff going on right now. Is this historically the same as many things we have been through before, or is it different? My family didn't watch the news growing up. But every time I tell my husband something I read on the internet like China or Korea doing something, he replies they always say that. So its hard for me to distinguish what has always been threats or war type talk with what is going on now. Anyone care to enlighten me on the same/difference "ness" of our current state of the world? |

Hi Roni, yes you are right to say that people have always worried about war and the like to a greater or lesser extent. But right now we've never been closer to nuclear war at any point in our history. There's a lot going on that mainstream media are not reporting on, or if they are, they are downplaying it and just not giving it the column inches it deserves. If you want to hear a pretty good assessment of where we are right now, I'd suggest you watch The Canadian Prepper on YouTube. He's got a good handle on what's happening and his predictions seem spot on. But I warn you it's fairly grim viewing. |

roni3470; Fact; US has around 4% of global population-Asia over 50% So...if the US wants the world to use US$ for all kind of trade-in that way financing US debts-how to deal with that ? Iraq, Libya wanted to go for other currencies for international energy trade...the US-NATO-stopped them.. If you are "#1" you always are in conflict with others so you can stay #1...Before the US the UK, NL-Dutch, Spanish learned it the hard way...So-YES-conflicts may not be "new"... However what is "new" is the US now in conflict with Russia-Iran-China...and not that far from "problems" with lots of other countries (including the EU very likely not willing to end trade with China...). In the early 70's (Nixon era) the US managed two major things; -One China policy, Nixon shaking hands with Mao in Bejing...in that way breaking China away from the Soviet Union... -Introduction of the petro-Dollar link...agreement with Saudi Arabia/OPEC...all global energy deals would be done in US$...the rest of the world would finance US debts... Both things changed; -The US still claims to stick to "One China" but is selling weapons, thinking of US "boots on the ground" in Taiwan...Even the US admitting Taiwan is part of China...only not acting like it... -The US increased oil production (but US consumption is that high US export is very limited). Trump recognized Jerusalem as capitol of Israel...Jerusalem is the 3rd holiest place in Islam... Trump also increased sanctions on China, ended Iran-deal....in that way pushing Russia-Iran-China closer... Since Russia and Iran are also major oil/energy exporters, China and India main buyers of that energy the question was raised why to use US$ for that... The US could enforce US-energy-links for the $ in small countries...but now is facing a very major block... BRIICSS now is Brazil-Russia-India-Iran-China-South Africa-Saudi Arabia...and they all are moving away from the US$... #DeDollarisation The central banks of #SouthKorea and #Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on promoting the use of their currencies for bilateral transactions, such as current account transactions and direct investment. lots of other countries now also move away from using the US$ in international trade... There are limits to creating money-US$- out of thin air-expecting/enforcing other countries to pay for US debts...There are limits to what "western sanctions" can bring... In that way this time is very different... Of course pandemics, climate collapse. income inequality/social unrest also are factors... My view-The west now needs good diplomats to get out of these conflicts ! Things can get VERY ugly soon (Ukraine war may have seen close to 500,000 deaths ??? The Iraq war -2003- could have resulted in over 1 million deaths...)... Yes-we had wars most of the time in recent history...but those wars were limited, regional...the US conflict with BRIICSS+ (Argentina, Mexico, Nigeria a.o. may join) only can be "won" by the US via diplomacy...NOT by confrontation... |
