Just now??? Holy cow. I can't believe they weren't closed sooner!

New Mexico just closed all schools effective today, and we just had 6 cases when that decision was made. (We're at 10 now)

Well to be clear our Governor in WA is an idiot of the highest magnitude. He was probably worried about hurting someone's feelings, hence the way too delayed decision FFS.

Any idea what working parents are doing now? I mean the hourly folks who can’t work from home and may not have sick leave.

Staying home with the kids, I guess everyone will figure that out later.  But that's a secondary consideration, the primary consideration is stopping the virus spread and shutting the schools down is an essential component of that.

I got my hours cut in half, and I am staying home and cleaning.  I will cook and bake extra, and my next shopping trip will be for as much stuff as I can get that will make the most meals, so I don't have to go out again for quite awhile.  We don't have cases in my immediate area yet, although the virus is creeping closer.

Don't fool yourself it is more wide spread than we know.  I have only 2 more appointments one to get my taxes to my accountant and the second to pick them up.  Will be using masks on both appointments!  After that I am in for maybe 4 months.

Washington number of cases has doubled in two days. 769 cases as of today. The Governor shut down all bars, restaurants except for take out or delivery, all theaters, all recreational places, banned gatherings of over 50 and events with fewer the 50 people are prohibited unless previously announced criteria for public heath and social distancing are met.

I expect within a week there will be a mandatory quarantine lock down in the entire state of Washington.
