Trump just asked the media not to "incite panic" There it is. Hopes for a "smaller circumstance" rather than a "bigger circumstance" It's here. |

BabyCat...testing kits are not there sorry but not there! What do you expect people to do pull test kits out of their butts? 80% of people will not get that bad...others will get bad. You can't panic and say that Trump is all bad on this sorry but calm down it will play out and you can only do so much. How many men do not wash their hands after they go to the bathroom...my late husband said it was huge and disgusting. So this is going to spread because Americans and others do not use good hygiene. |

Azar: will restrict travel from affected areas NIH Fauci: "community spread" defined, no direct link to index case. Presents challenges. risk to rest of country remains low, but evolving situation, by the day, by the week. From within (US): aggressive measures - you will hear additional cases, anticipated in community spread. |

Flumom, sorry, I call it like I see it. Terrible response to threat. We've squandered most of the time China gave us in so many ways. |

I feel like a time machine, but it's just logic. Trump: "hoax" is on them -"what they are doing" like the "impeachment hoax" , not the situation here. Says "how can anyone refer to this a hoax" but THAT IS NOT WHAT HE SAID AT THE RALLY LAST NIGHT. Bull. |

Trump trying to back out of his "hoax" statement. Even if misunderstood, the foolishness of linking "hoax" with coronavirus is just breathtaking. |

I am going on with my normal life going to work and living my life. I am social distancing because I choose to try and do it. But am I not going to the grocery store NO I go. Even CRS says it is not going to be that bad except us old people and people with underlying conditions. It is what it is I don't know what more you want Trump to do but I am sure what ever he does will not be good enough. |

Flumom, we had over a month to prepare testing kits and availability. South Korea has done over 40,000 tests in week, with a pop less than CA, OR, WA. Testing kit mistakes, overly restrictive diag criteria, etc. It was simply disgraceful. |

CFR or 2.3% (or right now, even with 3 week lag time, internationally at 1.6%). Remember my numbers? Trump: Considering closing the border with Mexico. |

Then we need to get test kits from SK. Not sure on all these facts because I am living my life but I am prepped and what ever happens I am ready. |

I watched the whole clip about his "hoax" comment. It was referring to media politicizing coronavirus against him. So, he was clearly not referring to coronavirus as a hoax, that's true. But I think he's into the realm where legitimate criticism of a genuinely poor epidemiological surveillance as a hoax is simply outlandish and irresponsible. |

It doesn't matter how many people you test if the test is not accurate. How many times did we hear about cases where the patient tested negative multiple times then had a positive result? There were also reports of the opposite occurring. Hopefully these new tests are accurate and easy to use. |

Apparently the present administrationdoesn’tunderstandthatmidhandlingthis=notbeingre-elected. The South Koreans are even performing drive through tests. Get tested. Stay at home. Result 2 days later. |

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration may use a 70-year-old law to speed up the manufacturing of medical supplies before a coronavirus outbreak, Alex M. Azar II, the health secretary, said on Friday, a seeming acknowledgment that the virus poses a threat beyond the reassurances of President Trump. The Defense Production Act, passed by Congress in 1950 during the Korean War, allows the president to expand production of the materials for national security purposes. Mr. Azar said that the federal government could move to expedite certain contracts, including for supplies like face masks, gowns and gloves. Mr. Azar has said that 300 million of a type of mask known as N95 are needed for the emergency medical stockpile for health care workers. “I don’t have any procurements I need it for now, but if I need it, we’ll use it,” Mr. Azar told reporters at a White House briefing on the administration’s request to Congress for emergency funds to respond to the virus.
