I am not sure if this question was asked already. Since there is no "search" functionality, I cannot check it so I am asking it anyway.

How can you use chloride to purify water? Where can I buy some chloride?

I found this to be a pretty good water purifier--

Clorine tabs.  The military uses them when deployed.  I say keep enough bottled water on hand till you have a chance to raid a dead, deserted military base and search the area.  Thats my plan

This comment is not related to purification but in the area of storage I found that Wal-Mar sell a light green 6 gallon water plastic water container.  They are in the sporting section (camping supplies) and cost approximately $6 plus some chanage.  I have 5 filled now.  Have not got the answer to keeping that water storage pure yet so will for now rotate it periodically.
