Here are the 20 Most Annoying Things Other Drivers Do

As you know, everyone’s horrible at driving except you.  You’re perfect.  “Consumer Reports” just released the results of a survey where people ranked the 20 most annoying things other drivers do on a scale of one to 10.  The one that ticks me off the most came in at #4 on the list.  Where does yours rank?

And the most annoying behavior is . . . texting while driving.  It got an average score of 8.9 out of 10.  That puts it just ahead of able-bodied people parking in handicapped spots, which got an 8.7.

The least annoying thing was the only item on the list connected to the radio, because radio is a fantastic and flawless medium.  People who crank the volume on their radio too high only averaged a 5.7 out of 10 for annoyingness.  So, turn it up.

Here’s the full list of the 20 most annoying things other drivers do . . .

#1.)  Texting while driving, 8.9 out of 10.

#2.)  Able-bodied drivers parking in handicapped spots, 8.7.

#3.)  Tailgating, 8.4.

#4.)  Drivers who cut you off, 8.3.

#5.)  Speeding and swerving in and out of traffic, 8.2.

#6.)  Taking up two parking spaces, 7.7.

#7.)  TIE:  Talking on the phone while driving . . . not letting you merge into a lane . . . and not dimming high beams, 7.6.

#10.)  Not using turn signals, 7.5.

#11.)  TIE:  Slow drivers in the passing lane . . . and jaywalkers who walk in front of your car, 7.3.

#13.)  Excessive horn honking, 7.1.

#14.)  Rubbernecking at accidents, 7.0.

#15.)  Not turning on lights when it’s raining or about to get dark, 6.8.

#16.)  Drivers who are indecisive about where to turn, 6.6.

#17.)  Slow drivers on a two-lane road who won’t pull over, 6.5.

#18.)  Not going when the light turns green, 6.1.

#19.)  Bicyclists who don’t let you by, 5.8.

#20.)  Cranking the radio volume, 5.7.

#3
#7c
#10
#11a (more specifically when said driver in the passing lane creates a boxed in effect & you can't go around any of them)

#1, 3, 5, 10 (one thing I have noticed since moving to Southern CA is people use their blinkers way less than up North), and 20. I hate loud music in the car, it's super distracting. Actually, I don't like today's music much anyway give or take a couple songs, so I listen to news radio while I am driving (not your average 24 y.o. lol ). I am annoyed by all the things, but those 5 annoy me the most.
Be prepared! It may be time....^_^v

I don't understand why people do these things.
I never do any of that!

I'm no where near a perfect driver but I always try to drive considerate to others.  Even when someone is riding my bumper.  I will just pull off somewhere & let them pass.  Either they are having an emergency & really need to get somewhere or are late for something etc.. & if they are just obnoxious & rude then pulling over still makes us both happier.  Unless it's like a rush hour type of traffic then pulling over really won't help, they'll just be stuck behind someone else in front of me.

The car lines at our schools here drive me nuts!  Sometimes people think they are being considerate but they are really creating more drama.  For example... I have seen someone create a 20 car line up of cars just to let another line of cars out of a school drive way.  They think they are being helpful but they are creating a whole new problem.

We have a police officer at a 4 way intersection between the elementary & middle schools & people will stop so cars can pull out of the elementary school & traffic will back up all the way to that cop at the intersection.  Then he can't let any cars go in any direction because of this.  People start blowing the horn to get that car to please go on.  It doesn't happen every day but it has happened more than once.  I don't know what goes on in people's minds, do they not look in their mirror?

(1) Hip Hop and Spanish at the car wash. Wait. That's not while driving. (Like Hachi I only listen to talk -boring but smart!)

(1) Tailgating (though I made several million dillars off a tailgater who finely slammed into me at a stop light at 40 mph. Well, I got 80 grand but turned a much smaller portion of it into millions.)

(1) One of those roadblock thingys. (I don't want to say what it's normally called because it might be viewed as discriminant towards our border brothers.)

(1) When you finely come to learn that that dear Grandma -or Grampa that you've been stuck behind in a two laner windy road for like ever turns out to be a college kid on their phone. (And you're now late for work. But I wouldn't know. I haven't worked since 1991. So in my case, late for shopping.)

(1) When the person in front of you keeps swerving and they're not even drinking. If they're behind me then I don't care because I always go a little faster than everyone else to keep myself safe and in control. (The same way the police drive.)

(1) Brights behind me at night but usually doesn't last long. (See above 👆)

My pet peeves are people texting, of course because they drive like they're drunk.

My second one is militant drivers. People that try to force you to go the speed limit just to be a prick or tie up great swaths of the traffic system because they are inconsiderate of everyone else. Most of the time these are Prius drivers.

Annnnnd Prius Drivers. They get a category all their own. Hey man, you're saving the planet... Well not really but you feel good thinking it, ignorance is bliss and stupidity is morphene and all that, however this is no reason to be a complete douche nozzle to everyone else on the road. If someone chooses to drive something other than your lifestyle specific skateboard, they might have a reason for it. Just about every time someone is being a jackass on the road, it is a good bet that they're in a Prius.

I was in my friend's Hummer H2, which ordinarily is one of the most obnoxious vehicles on the road, however in his case, he is 6'8" weighs 295 - 315 and is a carpet and flooring guy. He isn't fat, just professional football player level huge and looks strikingly like Leonidas from the movie 300. We were driving to Microcenter in St. Louis Park to get his new computer when during the entrance ramp game some douchenozzle in a Prius starts yelling about gas guzzler and flipping us off. We laugh at the patchouli smelling, Birkenstock wearing, pajamaboy, hipster, douche, and being the obnoxious jerks we are and go about our business. Priusboy speeds off.

Well fast forward ten minutes and who do we find getting out of his Libmobile at the same parking lot? Priusboy.

Dan walked over and politely... well as politely as anyone who is the size of a professional Wrestler can be, asked the hipster douche what the hell his problem is, and told him that maybe he drives the Hummer because he can't physically fit in anything else. Hipster douche said, "Ermagherd I wouldn't have said anything if I'd known you were so huge, please don't hurt me."

Half the parking lot prepared for the gorilla to tear off the Douche's head and beat his car with it.

Much hilarity ensued because beneath Big Dan's massive gruff exterior beats the golden heart of a total dork and all around nice guy. He said, "Well I would, but I took an arrow to the knee... Stop being a prick!" Perfect line and delivery considering we were at Nerd Mecca.

People who talk on the phone or text are the worst because they put others in danger of death.

In winter Colorado it was often what were you thinking driving a one wheel drive car in two feet of snow!

That maybe behind: what an ugly assed car!
